VEDA

VEDA derives its unique worldly sensibility from the endless travel of designer Lyndsey D. Butler. Lyndsey was born in Temple, Texas, a small town halfway between Austin and Waco. The Butler family split their time between Texas and their ranch in Argentina. Before graduating from NYU in 2004, Lyndsey had already began following her calling to fashion. First, working in New York City and, within a few years, moving to Hollywood to further pursue her career. All of these stops along her journey have combined to help create her unique aesthetic message: a decidedly urbane interpretation of her North and South American earthy cowgirl roots.

VEDA, her first venture, launched for Spring 2008, is a collection dedicated to leather and all of its possibilities. The range of leather garments and accessories varies in styling from archetypal leather jackets to innovative and previously unseen ideas in leather. The constant throughout the collection is the sumptuousness of the leather and the sophisticated ease of the designs.

In this season of VEDA, her inspirations are on the wild side, from Photographer Edward Colver’s snapshots of the punk rock movement to the Hells Angels culture in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
